Lakeview Remodel
Design/Build by Wu-Way Landscape
A 30-year-old landscape was ready for refurbishing. Children had
departed, some plantings were overgrown and other plantings had become
woody and unregenerative. It was determined to increase outdoor areas
for both daily living and entertaining, in a style that blends Sierra Foothills and Mediterranean.
     A new entry walkway was
built. The back lawn was replaced with a small vegetable garden with
raised beds and a trellis-capped deer fence. Simple court areas of
decomposed granite were created, with built-in benches, a stone fire ring, a small
brick patio for quiet retreat, a new sequestered zone for a clothesline,
and a delightful Italian terra cotta bowl to provide a source of water
for beauty and wildlife.
     Landscape lighting and irrigation were
installed along with new plantings of deer resistant natives and other
low water plants.
